Kerigma A house of prayer and spiritual growth in Jerusalem

Jerusalem is the capital of the Spirit, of the three monotheistic religions, of the different confessions of Christianity. It is the meeting point between the Old, the New Testament and the first steps of the Church. Here the prophets die, people sweat blood, rise again, and - because of the Pentecost - we can start again with the strength of the Spirit and the guarantee of the Master:

“And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age”. Matthew 28:20
Jerusalem, capital of the Spirit

Kerigma is a project of the Attediamoci ODV Association, an organization born in Reggio Calabria and operating in various Italian cities with the mission of preventing youth discomfort and promoting personal resources. Attendiamoci's approach involves the development of the person at 360° in all its dimensions, through various activities: empowerment courses, community life, management of assets confiscated from the mafia, theatrical activities, spiritual training, educational experiments.

A cenacle of the kerygma

Kerygma, from the Greek κήρυγμα (which literally means: "shout" or "proclaim"), is the word used in the New Testament to indicate the announcement of the Christian message.

Convinced of the importance of caring for spirituality in a perspective of full growth of the person, house Kerygma of Attendiamoci in Jerusalem is a place to reproduce the events of the Upper Room, the contents and methods of the announcement. A lighted lamp that testifies and is at the service of the "flame of the Spirit", so that everyone can feel, in and from the Holy City, the strength of the Comforter and the fullness of his gifts. All this for those who will reside, but also for the many friends who will follow the activities remotely.

House Kerigma is a humble place where you can experience a re-reading of your own history, according to the mystery of the incarnation and the action of the Spirit.

All this also through the simplicity of community life, in an atmosphere of continuous prayer for the loved ones who follow us from different parts of Italy. Those who want can experience an extended stay from 7 to 15 days to retrace the footsteps of the Master and the facts of salvation in the Holy City.

House Kerigma house is a small place to start from to experience the facts of the Gospel.

Where is house Kerigma?

House Kerigma is located on Benjamin Disraeli Street. Just 25 minutes walk from the Holy Sepulcher.

The style

Starting from the Kerigma house, the proposal is to reproduce the life of the apostles, with reference to the mystery of the Incarnation and with particular emphasis on the "Word and Facts" of the cenacle, on the contents and methods of proclamation.

The facts of the cenacle

  1. Listening to the kerygma
  2. The Eucharist as a memorial
  3. The washing of the feet as a style
  4. The experience of mercy as an effect of the relationship with the Consoler
  5. Prayer for the skeptics and non-believers
  6. The experience of the rising church under the action of the Spirit
  7. The mandate for preaching
  8. The community life of the apostles and the presence of Mary as an ecclesial style
  9. The announcement of the kerygma
  10. The mission to the ends of the world

The project has four aims:

  • Empowerment of young people, university students and seminarians
  • Rest and spiritual recharge for priests and laity
  • Application of the synod  and community discernment laboratory
  • Laboratory for the Global Educational Pact
